Rail India Conference Also with Czech Presence

Another edition of the Rail India Conference and Expo took a place on August 30-31, 2018 in Delhi, again with the active participation of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in India. Together with Ashwani Lohani, Chairman of the Railway Board, the highest executive body of the Indian Railways, the Embassy's Commercial Economic Counsellor Milan Dostál innaugurated this occassion by the contribution, in which he presented delegates the potential of Czech companies to modernize one of the most perspective rail markets in the world. The Czech Republic took part in the conference again after one year, when Ambassador Milan Hovorka adressed the audience during the innaugural session.  

Thanks to its active attitude and every year´s participation, the Czech Republic is perceived as a railway power, and many participants acquire awareness of the capabilities and skills of Czech manufacturers in the railway industry, which is the best proof that this way leads in the right direction.

Attending the conference brought interesting insights into the current state and development of Indian Railways, one of the most promising sectors in India. At the same time, however, the Commercial and Economic Counsellor presented to the audience the Czech republic´s  railway sector opportunities, its history and development and the importance for the national economy. He also recalled successful projects as well as companies that have established themselves in the Indian market, which is perceived as extremely perpective.





The presentation also included information on the possibilities for further involvement and showed what the Czech Republic offers in the field of rolling stock and railway infrastructure modernization.
During the two-day program, many other interesting guests from the public and private spheres of India, as well as several foreign guests, attended the conference. Main topics included "Opportunities for foreign companies to enter the Indian market", "High-speed Corridors and Modernization of the Track" or "New Models of Financing of Joint Projects on Railways".
