Trade and Invesment Webinar with Karnataka was focused on Aviation, Defence and Space Sectors

India and the Czech Republic have not slowed down in building business and people-to-people contacts even during the coronavirus pandemic. Example is a virtual round table focused on support of Aviation, Defence and Space sector cooperation, which was jointly prepared on 13th of January 2021 by the Embassy in Delhi and foreign offices of CzechTrade in India in cooperation with the government of Karnataka and the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic. Participants were honored by presence of Tomas Kopecny, Deputy Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic, Gaurav Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka, and Ambassador Milan Hovorka. After webinar on engineering sector, this was for the second time in just a few months, when we organized a virtual, sector oriented event to support Czech companies and their partners from Karnataka.
 

 

In addition to a dozen companies which shared their product portfolio through presentations, the Round Table was attended by high-level representatives of 6 Czech business associations, presenting the capabilities of their members - the Defense and Security Industry Association, the Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Crafts of the Czech Republic, Czech Chamber of Commerce, the Moravian Aerospace Cluster, the Association of Czech Aerospace Industry or the Czech Space Alliance.

 

In return, Czech participants learned from Commissioner for Industrial Development, Government of Karnataka, Ms. Gunjan Krishan, IAS, the information about Trade and Investment Potential in Aviation and Space Sector in Karnataka. On the top of that, another 6 Indian Companies presented themselves to Czech partners.

 

The round table was the first larger important event this year, which the Embassy organized in 2021, and also a kind of pre-event before the planned delegation, where companies from the defence and aviation industries will visit the Aero India 2021, taking place in February 2021 in Bengaluru.

 

With this aim in view, Czech companies like PBS Group, TATRA Trucks a.s., Eldis or Transcon introduced the audience with their product portfolio and plans of business development on Indian Subcontinent.

Karnataka is one of the most important states in India for Czech business, trade and investment. The Embassy of the Czech Republic will continue to support also other sectors through our “Action Plan for Economic Diplomacy during COVID-19.
