Superlegalization of Documents, Legalization of a Signature, Attestation of a Copy

The Embassy of the Czech Republic is authorized to officially attest signatures, copies of documents, and to superlegalize public documents issued in Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
  

Superlegalization

The applicants shall schedule an appointment via the following email address: newdelhi.consulate@mzv.gov.cz only. Emails sent to any other email addresses will be disregarded. Each applicant is allowed to send ONLY ONE (1) email.

The subject of the email requesting an appointment has to contain ONLY: Superlegalization and the applicant's passport number (e.g. Superlegalization - X12345678).

The email must contain the following identification information about the applicant (attachment max. 10 MB):

  1. first name and surname
  2. date of birth
  3. passport number
  4. issuing country of the documents (documents issued only in Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives are possible to superlegalize)
  5. number of the documents
  6. email

The appointment dates are final and unchangeable. It is to be noted that the received emails will be processed chronologically. The applicant will be given an appointment date only if all the necessary requirements are fulfilled.

The maximum number of verification is set at 10 per person. The processing time is up to 30 days.

Charges are payable in cash or by credit/debit card at the Consular Section (kindly see Visa and Consular fees).

In case you have an appointment for submission of your application for a long-term visa/residence permit or for an interview at our Visa Section, you may submit your documents for superlegalization during this appointment.

NB: Only documents issued in Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives, which are properly legalized by the respective Ministry of Foreign Affairs, may be superlegalized. The Indian documents have to be apostilled by the Indian authorities and no superlegalization is required.

Legalization of a signature

If you require your signature to be legalized, you will have to come in person to our office, show your valid passport and sign in front of a legalization officer on any working day upon prior appointment.

Attestation of a copy of an original document

If you require attestation of a copy of an original document, you have to bring a copy and an original of the document and your valid passport on any working day upon prior appointment.

NB: According to the Czech laws the Embassy cannot attest a copy of a passport, an identity card, a driving licence, a gun licence and any other unique document which cannot be substituted by a copy. Further, it is not possible to attest a copy of an original document with embossed/relief text or stamp, bankbooks, cheques, lottery tickets and coupons, geometric or technical designs. The Embassy will neither certify a copy of an original document that conflicts with Czech legislation or good manners, has modifications that could impair its credibility, or its originality may not be reliably evaluated by the Embassy.
