Official opening of the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Chandigarh

Ambassador of Czech Republic in India H. E. Mrs. Eliska Zigova officially opened the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Chandigarh on November 3, 2022. On the occasion, Major Guneet Chaudhary (retired) was inaugurated as the first honorary consul of the Czech Republic for states of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh and union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Chandigarh.
The ceremony was attended by Speaker of the Punjab Legislative Assembly H.E. Mr. Kultar Singh Sandhwan and representatives of the diplomatic, political and business community of Chandigarh.
The main aim of the Honorary Consulate is to provide assistance to Czech citizens as well as to promote bilateral economic and cultural relations between Czechia and India.
