Temporary suspension of the visa processing and current conditions on travelling to/from India

As of 4 May 2021, according to the points I.13 and I.14 of the valid Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic the visa processing at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi is suspended temporarily until further notice. This applies for all submitted and decided (approved/refused) applications as well as for accepting new applications. Applicants who have already been granted the appointment date for lodging visa applications were contacted by email by the consular staff with further information. The Embassy will inform about the resumption of visa processing promptly.

Furthermore, rules for travelling from India to the Czech Republic were updated on 3 May 2021. According to the pt. I.10 of the above-mentioned Protective Measure, all nationals of India who were staying for more than 12 hours during the last 14 days in India and foreign nationals who were staying for more than 12 hours during the last 14 days in India are prohibited from entering the territory of the Czech Republic. This does not apply, among others, to foreign nationals with a permanent residence permit of the Czech Republic, EU citizens with a temporary residence certificate of the Czech Republic and family members of CZ/EU citizens with a temporary residence permit of the Czech Republic. Holders of a short-term or a long-term visa or a long-term residence permit are not allowed to travel to the Czech Republic.

As of 27 April 2021, India was added on the list of countries with an extreme risk of transmission of COVID-19 disease (see Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health). According to this measure, all citizens of the Czech Republic and foreign nationals with residence in the Czech Republic are banned to enter India (this does not apply to citizens of India and to travels, which cannot be postponed due to their nature and which were announced beforehand to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic).
