Intra-Company Employee Transfer Card

You have to submit the application personally at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi. Previous booking of appointment is requested.

General information

The Intra-Company Employee Transfer Card is an authorisation for long-term residence in the Territory of the Czech Republic where the purpose of residence (longer than 3 months) of the foreign national is to perform work in the position of manager, specialist or employed intern to which the foreign national has been transferred.

The Intra-Company Employee Transfer Card is a plastic card with biometric components.

The Intra-Company Employee Transfer Card is issued for the duration of transfer to the territory of EU member states, but only to a maximum of 3 years for a manager and specialist and for 1 year for an employed intern. The card may be extended repeatedly to cover the duration of transfer to the territory of member states of the European Union, to a maximum of 3 years for a manager and specialist and for 1 year for an employed intern.

An application for the Intra-Company Employee Transfer Card may be lodged using the "Application for Long-Term Residence" form.

How to book an appointment

Citizens of India, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Nepal and residents residing legally and continously for at least two years in the mentioned countries have to apply for appointment date for the submission of long-term visa, long-term residence permit application via e-mail ID visa_newdelhi@mzv.cz (click here for more information how to book appointment)

Please present the following to support your application for an Intra-Company Employee Transfer Card:

  1. a valid travel document,
  2. proof of arranged accommodation in the territory of the Czech Republic,
  3. 1 photograph corresponding to the current appearance of the foreign national,
  4. transfer letter containing
  • confirmation by the commercial corporation based outside the territory of member states of the European Union stating that the foreign national will be transferred intra-company to perform work in a commercial corporation or subsidiary based in the Territory in the position of manager, specialist or employed intern, with specification of the duration of the intra-company transfer and the place of employment in the Territory,
  • specification of terms and conditions of employment as to the length of working hours, length of holiday per calendar year and rate of salary or wage; these terms and conditions must be no worse than those stipulated in the Labour Code, which also applies to conditions concerning health and safety in the workplace, the working conditions of pregnant women and women shortly after giving birth, equal treatment of men and women and other provisions concerning non-discrimination, and
  • confirmation that, at the end of the duration of intra-company transfer, the foreign national will be transferred back to the commercial corporation based outside the territory of European Union member states,

5. a document demonstrating the manner in which the entities between which the foreign national is to be transferred are related, i.e. one of    the following documents:

  • a document proving that the subsidiary to which the foreign national is to be transferred is a subsidiary of the commercial corporation within which the foreign national is being transferred, or
  • a document proving that the commercial corporation within which the foreign national is being transferred are a controlling and controlled entity in relation to each other, or that these two commercial corporations are controlled by the same controlling entity,

6. a document proving the required level of professional qualification, if required by special legislation,

7. a document proving satisfaction of the conditions for performing a regulated profession, if such profession is concerned,

8. a document proving a university qualification in the case of intra-company transfer of an employed intern,

9. in the case of an employed intern, a professional training agreement containing a description of the professional training programme from which it is apparent that it involves professional development training or specialised training in the area of commercial techniques or methods with the aim of preparing the foreign national for his/her future position within the commercial corporation within which or from which the foreign national is to be transferred, or within the commercial corporation that controls or is controlled by such commercial company, and

10. an extract from the Penal Register record issued by the state of which you are a citizen (issued by the Passport Office in case of India). You are also requested to submit an extract from the Penal Register record issued by the states in which you have had residence for over 6 months in its summary in the last 3 years. The extract from the Penal Register record may be replaced by an affidavit, if the given state does not issue such a document. The obligation to submit an extract from the Penal Register record does not relate to a foreign national under 15 years old. 

11. visa fee.

You have to always submit originals or official copies of the documents. Travel document, document confirming the purpose of stay shall be submitted in original. Certified copy is not sufficient for this purpose.

All documents submitted in a foreign language must be in original and with an officially certified translation into the Czech language (the applicants are required to arrange the official translation via an official translator, the list is available here: https://seznat.justice.cz/). The required documents to be submitted with the application cannot be older than 180 days, except for the foreign national's travel document and photograph if it corresponds to his/her true and actual appearance.

Foreign public documents must be supported by a higher verification (Apostille in case of India, superlegalization in case of Bangladesh, Bhutan, the Maldives, Nepal or Sri Lanka). Superlegalization is provided by the Embassy of the Czech Republic.

Moreover, applicants shall also submit copies of all above-mentioned documents.

Processing time of the Intra-company transfer application

The deadline for a decision on an Intra-Company Employee Transfer Card is 90 days.
