Long Night of LiteratureS 2019

The Embassy of the Czech Republic participated for the second time at the Long Night of LiteratureS in New Delhi on 27th September 2019.

Czech Republic was represented by Mr. Ales Čermák, who is an artist & writer, founder A-B_HPP [@ausdruck_books hybrid publishing platform].

He presented his project The Earth Trembles: Ed. 3. Deep Adaptation, Phase: II: Ecology of Our Juristic System. This project highlighted the climate changes from the perspective of human body.

The human body is his long term interest – as a key element in performance, but also generally as a subject, object, quasi-object or quasi subject, as a tool, a source and victim of violence, and, lately, as an obstacle, a boundary.

This events also hosted for a first time project Franz Kafka in Virtual Reality, where the audience can experience the transformation from the human body to the insect. This project is based on the most well known novel of the twentieth century, The Metamorphosis written by Franz Kafka. The project was developed by the Goethe – Institute Prague together with a Czech start up coordinated by a film director from Prague Film School, Mika Johnson.

The Ambassador of the Czech Republic Mr. Milan Hovorka took part in this event and met different authors across Europe. He also appreciated the benefit of the event as the celebration of the diversity and wealth of European literature in India.
