FYKOS is a group of university students under the auspices of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic.

Their aim is to inspire and educate high school students in physics and related fields, which they have been achieving for decades by organizing various educational competitions and other events.

Their educational model offers unique opportunities to ambitious students in various disciplines related to physics. FYKOS means propelling participants to new highs in their future careers, regardless of economic circumstances, so all of their activities are free of chargé.

The Events of FYKOS:

FYKOS competition – 6 times a year, a set of 8 problems is published and the participants have about a month to devise a solution. The solutions are marked and sent back with helpful feedback, allowing the students to improve their skills in physics. For the same purpose, example solutions of the problems are published and every year, a series of texts is written on an interesting topic in various areas of physics – this year, it is quantum chemistry.

Physics Brawl Online – one of the world's largest physics competitions. Teams of up to five participants are given three hours to solve as many physics problems as possible in a fierce competition of thousands of students from all around the world. The competition is primarily designed for high-school students, but it also has a special open category in which anyone can participate.

Students from India have been participating since 2014. This year, there were 531 participants, many of whom were very successful. We are all looking forward to the next Physics Brawl Online.  More information can be found on the website https://physicsbrawl.org.

Fyziklani – the largest physics team competition in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The concept of Fyziklani is similar to the Physics Brawl Online, but it takes place in Prague, allowing students from various countries to come to one place, compete together, but then also establish mutual ties.
The competition also has a rich accompanying program full of physics lectures, trips to laboratories and other scientific workplaces, social events allowing the participants to meet and get to know peers from different countries, and more. This year, several teams from the Online Physics Brawl, including Indian, will have the opportunity to travel to Prague for Fyziklani and its accompanying program with all costs covered.
