The first ever "VISEGRÁD Student Virtual Fair in India

Venue: New Delhi

Embassies of all four Visegrad countries in India, namely Embassy of the Republic of Poland in New Delhi, Embassy of Hungary in New Delhi, Slovak Embassy in India and the Czech Embassy New Delhi participated alongside their national agencies devoted to promoting the internationalization of higher education. The so-called V4 Group was established in 1991 as an alliance intended to promote and facilitate countries' entry to the European Union.
 

The fair was organized by the Embassy of Hungary in New Delhi, as a country currently presiding the Visegrád Group, on 8 June 2022. The event was hosted by the Symbiosis Centre for European Studies of the Symbiosis International University - SIU in Pune, which was inaugurated by the former Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš in January 2019.
The Chargé d'affaires of the Czech Embassy Mr Roman Masarik gave the opening remarks on behalf of the Czech Republic. He expressed a hope that this student fair will be helpful and useful. Acting Heads of Missions of other three countries Polish Ambassador Prof. Adam Burakowski, Hungaria Chargé d'affaires Károly Sardi and Slovak Chargé d'affaires Roman Mazanec had also introductory speeches.

Experts from Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Czechia then elaborated on possibilities of study in these countries.
Mr. Jakub Tesar, head of the Department for Internationalization of Study in the Czech Republic of Dům zahraniční spolupráce - DZS (the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research) in Prague, presented the system of higher education, including the benefits the foreign students may enjoy while studying in the Czech Republic.

He also expressed a wish that a number of 1,500 Indian students currently studying in the Czech Republic will continue to grow so that the new students from India may discover interesting study programmes the Czech universities offer to them.
