It has become already a tradition that the first movie shown at the festival is from the Czech Republic. This time the Czech Embassy in New Delhi nominated a movie "Tender Waves" (Něžné vlny), a romantic comedy of the Czech director Jiri Vejdelek, which is situated to November 1989 and reminds historical moments of the Velvet Revolution in Czechoslovakia of which 30th anniversary we are celebrating this year. "Indeed, it is not just a romance. The film helps us understand certain fundamental values and freedoms and reminds us of the need to stand for them," saut the Ambassador on the occasion.
