At the invitation of Ambassador David Červenka, the Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Bergen Carl-Fredrik Joys, the Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Trondheim Oddvar Karlsen and the Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Sjøvegan Arve Johansen met at the Czech Embassy in Oslo. The director of the regional cultural representation of the Czech Center, Michal Brenner, was also invited to participate. The priorities in the field of trade and tourism, covered by the regional representation of CzechTrade and CzechTourism in Stockholm, were presented by representatives of the Embassy. The purpose of the meeting was to define priorities for 2023 and possible activities of the Czech Republic on the regional level.

After an encounter of each of the guests with the Ambassador, a joint working session was held with the participation of the Embassy representatives. Honorary consuls presented their geographical regions, their specificities and important economic, business, academic, scientific and cultural events in the coming year. Ambassador Červenka emphasized that "given the geography of Norway, honorary consulates represent an irreplaceable component of the Czech representation in the country and a valuable support for the Czech citizens". A relatively large expatriate community lives in Stavanger, Bergen and Trondheim, but many Czechs have also settled in areas beyond the Arctic Circle.

The discussion also focused on the possibilities of involving honorary consuls in strengthening business and cultural cooperation between the Czech Republic and Norway. "My long-term goal will be raising of public awareness of Czechia as a democratic, trustworthy and safe country that shares the same values ​​as Norway. A country with a rich cultural heritage and well-educated population. A prosperous country with an open economy based on a deep industrial tradition, which at the same time looks to the future and is able to offer top products and technologies in selected sectors, or investment opportunities for Norwegian entities", stated Ambassador Červenka as the basic starting point of his work in Norway. As positive examples, he highlighted the successful involvement of the construction company Metrostav Norge in building the local infrastructure or popular Škoda cars in Norway.

In the course of the meeting, projects were brought up that the Embassy, ​​in cooperation with honorary consulates, could focus on in the future. The Ambassador announced early visits of honorary consulates to strengthen relations in respective Norwegian regions and asked the consuls to prepare relevant meetings.
