Czech film “The Painted Bird” in Norway premiere

On Friday, 16th October, the Czech film “The Painted Bird” (dir. Václav Marhoul, 2019) premiered in Norwegian cinemas.
 

The Painted Bird, an internationally co-produced Czech film, which participated at 76. Venice International Film Festival, 2019 Toronto International Festival, FBI London Film Festival, and which was selected as the Czech entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards, premiered in Norwegian cinemas. Distributed to the Norwegian market by Another World Entertainment AS, the film has received critical acclaim and has been given 5-star reviews from major Norwegian newspapers. In his review for Aftenposten, the writer Erlend Loe praised the brutal honesty with which the film depicts the dehumanising effect of war on people. Other commonly appreciated traits of the film were the performance of the cast, the artistic qualities, and the universal message.
