Revealing a memorial plaque in honor of Czechoslovak airmen in World War II

On September 9, 2018, the ceremonial opening of the memorial plaque to Czechoslovak airmen was held on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
 

On September 9, 2018, the ceremonial opening of the memorial plaque to Czechoslovak airmen was held on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. Czechoslovak Airforces played from 1940-1945 in the United Kingdom an important role. A memorial plaque was revealed in Vancouver, in Stanley Park, in the Garden of Remembrance.

The ceremony was organized by the Battle of Britain Memorial Fund together with the Air Force Officer's Association. The ceremony was attended by Milena Levíčková and Denisa Mohylová from the Consular Section of the Czech Embassy in Ottawa and Honorary Consul in Vancouver, Karel Vecera Galland. In the ceremonial speech was commemorated the remembrance and the heroism of the Czechoslovak airmen who stood on the side of British pilots during World War II and bravely fought against Nazi aggression.
