Ceska zbrojovka Group (CZG) has announced the signing of an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of Colt Holding Company. Apart from the parent company of Colt’s Manufacturing Company LLC, the legendary firearms manufacturer, CZG will also acquire its Canadian subsidiary, Colt Canada Corporation.

The deal is worth $220 million and more than one million newly issued shares of the Czech Company. The transaction is subject to approval by regulators and it is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2021.

With this strategic move, CZG will substantially expand its global customer base. They will also increase their production capacity in North America, both in the United States and Canada.  

Colt is a long-term supplier of the U.S. Army and through its subsidiary Colt Canada, the exclusive supplier of small arms to the Canadian Armed Forces.

Colt Canada is Canada’s Small Arms Strategic Source and Centre of Excellence. As a supplier, it is included in the federal government Munitions Supply Program which was created to secure a national capability for the supply of critical ammunition, small arms and associated equipment to the Canadian Armed Forces. The program allows the sourcing of contracts to predetermined suppliers, facilitates innovation, research and development and supports the modernization of supplier plants.
