Conditions for travelling to the Czech Republic

As of July, 13, 2020 the entry of Canadian citizens traveling from Canada to the Czech Republic is allowed without any restrictions.

If the entering person was not in the last 14 days longer than 12 hours in the red zone country (meaning, the person was only in the territory of the green zone country, or in the red zone country for the duration of time shorter than 12 hours), there are no further obligations upon the arrival to the Czech Republic.

Entry to the Czech Republic is governed by the Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health effective as of July 1, 2020.

Conditions for entry to the territory of the Czech Republic valid from July 1, 2020

NOTE: Canada is considered as a green zone country with a low risk of COVID-19.

The Czech Republic is in the Schengen area. Canadian citizens do not need a visa for travel to countries within the Schengen area. However, visa-free travel only applies to non-profit stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Stays are cumulative and include visits to any Schengen area country.

If you plan to stay in the Czech Republic/Schengen area for a longer period of time, you will need a visa. You must contact the Czech Embassy in Ottawa or the General Consulate of the Czech Republic in Toronto in order to submit the appropriate visa application prior to travel.
