State of Emergency in the Czech Republic - Temporary travel restrictions

In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) global outbreak, a State of Emergency has been proclaimed in the entire territory of the Czech Republic and is in effect from March 12, 2020, until April 11, 2020. The Czech Government has the mandate to amend the end date of the State of Emergency.
 

As one of the consequences of this measure, regulations of travelers’ movements into the Czech Republic are in force.


SUSPENSION OF ENTRY INTO THE CZECH REPUBLIC

Effective March 16, 2020, until further notice:

  • - Non-Czech citizens* are not allowed to enter the Czech Republic.
  • - Czech citizens are not allowed to leave the Czech Republic.

* Foreigners with permanent or temporary residence over 90 days in the Czech Republic are allowed to enter the Czech Republic. For more exceptions, please, visit: https://www.mvcr.cz/mvcren/article/exceptions-to-travel-restrictions.aspx

NOTE that:

  • - Czech citizens are allowed to enter the Czech Republic while observing limitations to cross-border transport.
  • - Foreigners who hold a valid temporary residence permit or a valid permanent residence permit in the Czech Republic are allowed to enter the Czech Republic.
  • - Czech citizens who enter the Czech Republic after a stay in any high-risk coronavirus country are ordered a mandatory quarantine period of 14 days.
  • - Foreigners are allowed to leave the Czech Republic while observing limitations to cross-border transport.
