Consular Fees

The current exchange rate valid from March 1, 2024, is CZK 17.230/CAD 1 and CAD 1.4719/EUR 1.

Consular fees are charged in Canadian dollars. Consular fees depend on exchange rate and may therefore change the first day of each month. In case you send your application by mail at the end of month please send higher amount to avoid unpaid balance. The surplus will be returned to you with your processed application.

We accept either cash payment, certified checks, "Postal Money Order" - both payable to the "Embassy of the Czech Republic". The Embassy does not accept personal checks.

As of May 2021, as an alternative to the current methods of paying consular fees, it is also possible to pay them by a bank card, if you are submitting your application in person at the consular section.

The following bank cards are accepted: Mastercard, Mastercard Electronic, Maestro, VISA, VISA Electron, V Pay, Diners Club, Discover, JCB Union Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Garmin Pay.

Payments by bank card are only made in CZK (for consular fees set in CZK) and EUR (for Schengen visa fees). The fee is deducted from the client's card in CZK or EUR, and the amount is converted to the currency in which the client's account is kept at the exchange rate set by the client's bank. If the client's account is maintained in another currency, his bank may charge a fee for the payment.
