The ceremony took place in the commune of Toul Prech, Kandal Province under the chairmanship of His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni and with the participation of members of the Government, the National Assembly, representatives of the diplomatic corps and representatives of the civil society of Cambodia. In his speech, the monarch emphasized the symbolism of planting new trees with the fight against the extensive exploitation of Cambodian forests and the illegal export of wood. The planting of young trees attracted vast public presence and the attention of media.
