On 9 August 2017, V. Tesar visited Caritas Takeo Eye Hospital in Takeo province, met with Director of the Provincial Department of Health and observed the regional general hospital of Takeo City.

The Takeo Eye Clinic is Cambodia's leading specialised medical center. The activity of the clinic is financially supported within the Czech Development Cooperation Program "Support and development of ophthalmology in the rural areas of Takeo Province in Cambodia". The project aims to improve the quality of provision of comprehensive ophthalmological services by increasing the qualifications of physicians and healthcare professionals through regional and national cooperation, as well as increasing the availability of ophthalmic services within the district health system to all patients, especially from remote rural areas.
