The reception-related event took place at the premises of the French Institute in Phnom Penh under the title "Czech and Slovak Century". Representatives of Cambodian governmental and non-governmental institutions and organizations, graduates of Czech and Slovak universities, entrepreneurs, diplomats and media representatives could see a set of panels recalling the main events and actors of Czechoslovakia, combined with a commemoration of the successful boom of Bata's shoemaker giant. The panel exhibition was accompanied by a video program presenting the contemporary Czech Republic and its historical sites.

After the opening ceremony, attended by about 80 participants, the exhibition was open to the public at the premises of the Gallery of the French Institute. The event was subsequently reported by the main Khmer and English published Cambodian daily newspapers.
