Czech Republic is supporting safe and hygienic learning environment for primary schools

In 2020, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Phnom Penh will support 2 projects aiming at improvement of quality of education at primary schools. The support will be provided through the Blue School Activities (BSA) project implemented by non-governmental organization named Social, Environment, Agricultural Development Organization (SEADO) in Banteay Meanchey and the project of Star Kampuchea called Promote Education at Romeas Haek Primary School (PERHARPS) located in Svay Rieng province.

BSA project will focus on providing hygienic school environment through installation of water supply systems, toilets and sanitation facilities. Moreover, the project will be oriented on introducing Blue school education concept of learning by doing and will combine this approach with gardening activities and recycling of organic waste.

PERHARPS project will be oriented on facilitation of better access to education through construction of kindergarten class to teach small children and on additional construction support to provide safe learning environment for students of the first and the second grade. Project will also fund building of the water source to provide the children and people from adjacent village the access to safe drinking water and thus contribute to improved health of the community.

Both projects are funded from the specific Small Scale Projects (SSP) program of the official Development Cooperation program of the Czech Republic.
