Small Scale Projects are complementary to the large multiple-year projects implemented by the Czech Development Agency and the projects are inseparable component of the Czech Development Cooperation since 2006. The majority funding is to be directed toward local civil society organizations (including non-governmental organizations) and other institutions working at the local level.

Small Scale Projects are supported and managed by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Phnom Penh. The Embassy usually launches its annual call for proposals via website of the Embassy either in August or September. The projects can focus on various sectors in accordance with the national development strategies and should promote the gender equality and respect for the environment.
