The government of Cambodia appreciated the Czech Republic's support for the country's regional development.

At the annual conference of the Ministry of Regional Development of Cambodia on 27.1.2020, Deputy Prime Minister Yim Chhay and Minister of Regional Development of Cambodia Ouk Rabun praised the Czech Republic's contribution to the country's regional development. Along with the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Japan and South Korea received similar recognition.

In the area of regional development, Czech entities are particularly involved in improving the availability of drinking water and sanitary conditions for socially weaker communities, in spatial planning with an emphasis on providing housing for vulnerable and marginalized groups of people. The Czech Republic is also visible in the area of prevention and resilience to natural influences and disasters and in assisting farmers in climate change. The implemented projects are mostly associated with elements of education (hygiene, sanitation) and have an effect in improving the health situation of the project beneficiaries.
