Activities of the project implemented at Don Run and Cham Noan primary schools were partly focused on material support in the form of toilet building and renovation, wastewater treatment based on biodegradable principles in a small constructed wetland, handwashing facilities or providing filters for cleaning water. Some activities also engaged teachers, pupils or their parents. Their cooperation helped to establish new school gardens, where pupils can learn how to grow plants and vegetable, or recyclable/biodegradable waste collection places, sheltered parking space for pupils’ bicycles or cement pathways in the school area. Thus, the two project schools in Don Run and Cham Noan districts became good examples for the other rural schools in Banteay Meanchey province.

The project was implemented by Cambodian non-governmental organisation SEADO and funded within the official development cooperation program of the Czech Republic.
