Programming Mission for Foreign Development Cooperation in Cambodia

On October 1-6, 2017, the programming mission was working in Cambodia composed of representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the Czech Development Agency.

The Czech Republic's programming mission verified in Cambodia the setting of the priorities of the draft bilateral foreign development cooperation program with Cambodia for the period 2018-2023. The Czech Republic intends to support Cambodian partners in this program, particularly in the areas of education, health, sustainable management of natural resources with a focus on the water and sanitation sector (WASH), incl. the expansion and qulity of water management infrastructure. Through targeted projects, the Czech Republic, in co-operation with local partners and in coordination with other donors and committed institutions, will assist the Government of Cambodia in reducing poverty, social exclusion, business development and supporting sustainable economic progress in the country.
Members of the programming mission discussed the development priorities of the five-year program with partners in Cambodian ministries and institutions, as well as representatives of key donors and major non-governmental organizations and representatives of the EU member states. In addition to the negotiations in Phnom Penh, the mission was also held in the Kompong Chchang province.
