The Spirituál Kvintet (composed of Jiří Tichota, Zdeňka Tichotová, Dušan Vančura, Veronika Součková, Jiří Cerha, Jiří Holoubek and Pavel Peroutka) performed in the crowded Brooklyn Theater on November 11, 2018. Ambassador Michal Král opened the concert for the 100th anniversary of Czechoslovakia. There followed a performance full of well-known hits of the group. Some songs were also sung by the audience who were mainly from the Czech and Slovak communities.

After a successful concert in Pretoria, the performance of Spirituál followed on November 16, 2018 in Cape Town. The performance took place in the Visegrad House (in the building of the former Consulate General). The history of this folk group was presented by Consul Anna Syková. During the concert, songs from the newer work were also played. The audience, especially from the expatriate community, paid musicians not only with applause but also with words of warm thanks.

It was a great honor and a pleasure for the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Pretoria to celebrate the anniversary with the Spirituál Kvintet.
