The Embassy of the Czech Republic handed over an award to young South African artist

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in collaboration with the Johannesburg Holocaust and Genocide Centre, on 25 October at the Redhill School, in Sandton presented a screening of a Czech historical drama movie „Lidice".

On this occasion the Deputy Head of Mission, Mrs. Nicol Adamcova, handed over an award of the Lidice Memorial to Miss Natasha Brown, a South African student of the St Stithians College in Randburg.
Miss Natasha Brown was awarded for her drawing with which she participated in the 40th International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts - Lidice 2012. This exhibition was established in 1967 to commemorate the child victims from the Czech village of Lidice murdered by German Nazis, as well as all other children who have died in wars. Natasha Brown received the Honorary Mention Diploma of the Lidice Memorial, a commemorative medal of the exhibition and a book about the most beautiful places in the Czech Republic.
