SA delegation headed by the DM minister of the Department of Trade and Industry, Mr Fikile Slovo Majola, arrives in Czechia to take part in the “4th Meeting of the Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation between the Czech Republic and the Republic of South Africa” held between 3 – 8 October 2019. Czech counterpart to Mr Majola is the DM of industry and trade, Mr Marian Piecha. Besides the representatives of SA government, the delegation further consists of more than a dozen of SA companies and associations eager to meet their Czech prospective partners.

The programme officially commences on Friday the 3 October with the meeting of the committee in Prague at the level of DMs. Topics to be covered include but are not limited to mutual investment opportunities within sectors of healthcare, mining, energy, railway, defence, and water management. The meeting is to be followed by a round table and B2B sessions between Czech and SA companies.

SA delegation then continues to Brno where on Monday the 7 October the “Czech / SA Business Forum“ as well as B2B meetings are held at the occasion of the International Engineering Fair 2019. It is expected that this great opportunity is to build new business relationships leading to many of concrete projects between Czech and SA participants.

This project of economic diplomacy (so called PROPED) is organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic in cooperation with the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic and was initiated by the activities of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Pretoria.
