Warning: New rules for travelling with minors to and from Botswana

As of the 1st October 2016, new rules for travelling with minors to and from Botswana have come into effect. Minors must produce an unabridged birth certificate reflecting the particulars of both parents of the child. If he or she is not travelling with both parents, then consent from the other parent is required.
 

Parents travelling with a child must produce an unabridged birth certificate (an original or a certified copy) of the child reflecting the particulars of both parents of the child. If the birth certificate is in Czech language, a certified translation into English must be presented.

In case one parent is travelling with a child, he or she must produce consent in the form of an affidavit from the other parent registered as a parent on the birth certificate of the child authorising him or her to enter into or depart from Botswana with the child and a copy of that parent´s passport. Contacts, namely address of residence and telephone, should be included.
