VISA SECTION provides services related to short-term Schengen visas, as well as long-term visas and residence permits for foreigners going to the Czech Republic.

CONSULAR SECTION provides services related to Czech citizenship and passport agenda, registration of births, marriages and deaths of Czech citizens abroad, services of CzechPoint as well as legalization and verification of documents (super-legalization, verification of a copy, verification of a translation).

  • Consular days in Cape Town
    The Consular Section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Pretoria regularly performs the above stated consular services also during consular days in Cape Town. For the date of next consular days kindly follow our website or send us an email to consulate_pretoria@mzv.cz (we will contact you after the date is set).
     
  • Honorary consulates of the Czech Republic
    Besides emergency assistance, the honorary consulates of the Czech Republic in the countries within this Embassy's consular juristiction perform some of the consular agendas stated above:
    • - verification of signature and verification of a copy (honorary consulates in Gaborone, Port Louis, Maputo a Luanda),
    • - verification of translation (honorary consulates in Gaborone, Port Louis, Maputo a Luanda),
    • - issuance of emergency passport for a return to the Czech Republic (in case of loss or robbery of the original Czech passport),
    • - formal hand-over of ready biometric passports to the applicants (the application for a new biometric passport needs to be submitted in person at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Pretoria).


APPOINTMENTS:

  • Schengen visa applications - need to be submitted at VFS Global visa centers located in Pretoria, Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. The only categories entitled to submit directly at the Embassy are EU citizen family members, diplomatic and official passport holders, official delegations and urgent humanitarian cases. CONSULAR ADMINISTRATIVE FEES:

Consular fees are determined by Act No. 634/2004 Coll., on administrative fees, as amended. At the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Pretoria, consular fees can be paid by card or in cash. Fees paid by card are collected in CZK or EUR (Schengen visa applications), cash payments are collected in local currency.

WORKING LANGUAGES

In accordance with § 169 of the Act no. 326/1999 Sb., about the stay of foreigners in the territory of the Czech Republic, the working languages of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Pretoria are Czech and English. In case an applicant for a long-term visa or residence permit cannot speak either of the languages, he or she needs to secure an interpreter, at their own expense.
