Applicants for Schengen visas can apply only via VFS Global :

They can apply for Schengen Visas at Visa application Centres of VFS Global where an appointment is required (see more below).

Applicants for a Schengen Visas in Angola can contact the Consulate General of Portugal in Luanda.

Applicants for Schengen Visas in Madagascar can contact the Embassy of France in Antananarivo.

Applicants for Schengen Visas in Mozambique can contact the Embassy of Portugal in Maputo.

 

Cooperation with outsourcing company VFS Global in schengen visa matters

Please note from 1st December, 2015 the Embassy of the Czech Republic also uses the services of VFS Global in the Republic of South Africa to process the Schengen visas applications.

The applicants for schengen visas to the Czech Republic may apply through the VFS Global Centre in Pretoria, Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. For further information and making an appointment please consult: www.vfsglobal.com/CzechRepublic/SouthAfrica.

 

To apply for a long stay visa or a residence permit please contact the visa section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic for an appointment (via email: consulate_pretoria@mzv.cz).

All applicants (SA citizens and citizens of other countries residing legally in SA on the basis of valid residence permit) are allowed to apply for the visa at VFS Global.

The supporting documents for travelling to the Czech Republic must be submitted in English.

In connection with the Amendment to the Visa Code, effective from 2 February 2020, we announce that from 2 February 2020 the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Pretoria will not accept standard Schengen Visa applications at the visa section. Visa applications will only be accepted if submitted through the VFS Visa Centers in Pretoria, Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town and Gaborone.

The possibility of accepting Visa applications at the Embassy for EU family members, holders of Diplomatic and Service passports, Official Delegations, family members of Embassy staff of the host country or for urgent humanitarian reasons will be retained.

ALL VISA APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT THEIR APPLICATIONS IN PERSON.

The  appointment is needed for individuals.

ALL APPLICANTS MUST PROVIDE THEIR FINGERPRINTS UPON SUBMITTING THE APPLICATION. EXEMPTIONS ARE PROVIDED FOR:

  • children under the age of 12;
  • persons for whom the collection of fingerprints is physically impossible;
  • Heads of State and members of national Governments, with accompanying spouses, and the members of their official delegation when they are invited by Member States' governments or by international organisations for an official purpose;
  • Sovereigns and other senior members of the royal family, when they are invited by Member States' governments or by international organisations for an official purpose.

Processing time of an application is usually two (2) calendar weeks. You application can be not submited/accepted in the time shorter than 15 days. The Embassy of the Czech Republic recommends applying for a visa three (4) or more weeks before the date of departure! An application cannot be lodged earlier than three (6) months before the start of the intended visit.
