Commemoration of the Fallen Slovak Soldier

On May 15, 2015 a ceremony was held at Sekiraća region to commemorate Sergeant Miroslav Hajdúch, soldier of the Army of the Slovak Republic, who died in a tragic accident at detached position close to the Kosovo-Serbian border.
 

The event, organized by the Slovak Liaison Office in Kosovo, was attended by Mr. Henrik Markuš,  Head of the office, Major General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, Commander of KFOR, Mr. Ivo Šilhavý, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Kosovo, and Mr. István Sipos, Deputy Head Of the Hungarian Embassy in Kosovo. Also Slovak members of the EULEX mission and Hungarian soldiers from the KFOR contingent paid tribute to their colleague.

Czech and Slovak soldiers served together in Kosovo at the military base Šajkovac within six Czech-Slovak Battalions from February 2002 until July 2005 and after that also within the Multinational Task Force – Center.
