Czech MPs visited Czech soldiers in KFOR HQ

On October 21, 2016 the members of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Mr. Adolf Beznoska, Mr. Milan Šarapatka, and Mr. Václav Klučka accompanied by Ms. Iva Masaříková, Director of International Relations Department, met the soldiers of the Czech Contingent in KFOR, the members of the 7th Group of the 2nd Task Force KFOR HQ at the military base "Film City" in Pristina. The Czech soldiers presented to the Czech MPs the results of their professional work done in the specific conditions of foreign mission in Kosovo. At the KFOR military base, the MPs also honored the memory of the perished Slovak soldiers.

Since October 22, 2016 the Czech MPs, subsequently, participated in the three-day 93rd Rose-Roth Seminar of NATO Parliamentary Assembly held in Pristina. The Lawmakers from member and partner countries of NATO took part in the seminar, which dealt with the role of contemporary Kosovo in Europe and in relation to the Euro-Atlantic security,
 

Kosovo´s President Hashim Thaci, during the 93rd Rose-Roth Seminar of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly said that the establishment of Kosovo's Armed Forces is a major step to become a part of NATO and the EU. However, according to him, delays of the EU and NATO to integrate the Western Balkans create space for dangerous ideologies. “It is very important for the region, and for the EU itself, not to delay the integration of the Western Balkans,” President Hashim Thaçi said.

The Seminar was organized in cooperation with the Assembly of Kosovo and with the support of the Swiss Government.
