Czech Republic: Temporary restrictions to cross-border travel

(This article expired 31.08.2022.)

In response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, regulations of travelers' movements into the Czech Republic are in force.

Entry of non-Czech citizens to the Czech Republic is currently restricted.

For a list of special provisions that may allow foreigners to enter the Czech Republic, consult the website of the Czech Ministry of the Interior, in particular the file "Conditions for entry of persons to the territory of the Czech Republic in accordance with the Ministry of Health Protective Measure". This file is updated periodically on the website.

Enquiries related to the entry into the Czech Republic shall be sent by e-mail to cestovani.covid19@mvcr.cz, an information hotline operated by the Czech Ministry of the Interior.

All extraordinary and protective measures and recommendations, valid in the Czech Republic in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, are published on a dedicated website of the Czech Ministry of Health.

At present, all travelers from Kosovo must immediately, upon entry into the Czech Republic, notify their arrival and address of stay to the respective Public Health Office and undergo a RT-PCR test for the presence of SARS CoV-2 at a COVID-19 testing center of their choice; the cost of testing shall be borne by the traveler.

Prior to the commencement of travel from the Kosovo to the Czech Republic passengers should check with the operating airlines their conditions for acceptance of passengers, as well as conditions for transit at intermediary airports (testing, face covering, etc.).
