Czech support of social inclusion of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians in Fushë Kosovo

On 27 November 2019, a conference was held in Pristina as part of a program supporting the social inclusion of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians in Fushë Kosovo.
 

The conference was a part of the project "Pilotage of Social Inclusion of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians in Fushë Kosovo", which is implemented by the Czech NGO Citizenship/Civil and Human Rights Counseling Center in cooperation with the partner organization Civil Rights Program Kosovo. Integral part of the program is a transfer of the Czech experience with policies and practices in the field of community planning, situational analysis and strategic planning at the municipal level in the field of social inclusion of people.

The conference participants discussed the strategic priorities of the action plan, which is designed to help the social inclusion of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians in Fushë Kosovo. This plan will include priorities in the areas of health, employment, education, housing policy, etc. As part of the project, a municipal action commission was set up to carry out these tasks, with the participation of officials and experts from the Fushë Kosovo municipality.

The Czech NGO was at the conference in Pristina represented by its Executive Director Miroslav Dvořák. Civil Rights Partner Kosovo was represented by its Executive Director Naim Osmani. Representatives and experts from the Fushë Kosovo municipality took part in the conference. At the beginning, Head of the Czech Embassy in Kosovo Pavel Bílek, greeted the conference participants.

On the same day, the head and representatives of the Embassy met with Director Miroslav Dvořák and Director Naim Osmani at the Embassy of the Czech Republic and jointly evaluated the results of the ongoing project. At the same time, they also discussed the perspective of other potential projects in Kosovo in the framework of the Czech transformation cooperation.
