Czernin Palace to Host Meeting of V4 and Western Balkan Foreign Ministers

The foreign ministers of the Visegrád Group countries will meet with their counterparts from the Western Balkan countries in the Czernin Palace on Thursday, 27 February 2020. They will also be joined by the foreign ministers of Austria, Croatia and Slovenia as well as the European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement.

Among the main topics of discussion will be support for the European integration of the Western Balkan countries into the EU and regional cooperation. The meeting of foreign ministers of the Visegrád Four and Western Balkan countries is one of the most important traditional events in the V4 + format, which is organised annually by the V4 Presidency, currently held by the Czech Republic. This is the most significant activity of the V4 countries with regard to the Western Balkans and is primarily aimed at supporting the region in the process of EU enlargement as well as transformation and democratisation, which is one of the long-term priorities of the Czech Republic both bilaterally and within the V4.

The meeting of ministers will conclude with a joint statement by the V4 foreign ministers.
