EU expresses gratitude to Madame President Jahjaga

On March 16, 2016 Head of the EU Office in Kosovo/EU Special Representative Samuel Žbogar together with EU Heads of Mission in Kosovo hosted a farewell lunch for Atifete Jahjaga, outgoing President of Kosovo. EUSR Žbogar in his address expressed thanks to Madame President for the excellent cooperation and emphasized her endeavor in trying to bridge political divides in Kosovo, her non-partisan attitude, and her efforts to unify the society in the interest of the Kosovo citizens.
EUSR Žbogar acknowledged Madame President’s tireless work over the past five years with a goal to make Kosovo a better place for its people. He pointed out fight against corruption and raising awareness of corruption’s harmfulness to the society from a wide range of Madame President’s activities. EUSR Žbogar appreciated her strong engagement in achieving the women’s equal status in Kosovo society, and particularly her support to victims of sexual violence.
