123 young musicians from Kosovo, Albania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Italy and South Africa are supposed to attend this year's Academy. During the Academy, these young students will be able to improve their musical skills in many courses led by music professors. A total of 10 music pedagogues from Kosovo/Austria, Germany, Poland, France/Russia, the Netherlands, Hungary and the Czech Republic will be teaching and preparing students for concerts that will be held in Gjakova, Pristina and Tetovo (Macedonia).

The project of music academy was founded by the Czech Embassy in Pristina in 2012 and the Czech Embassy organized this event in 2013 again as a common project with the participation of diplomatic missions of the EU countries. The Academy was a great success in Pristina and it continued in 2014 on the initiative of the German Embassy, and the Luxembourg Embassy organized the Academy in 2015. Since 2016 the Academy has been organized by the Gjakova-Basel foundation in the city of Gjakova.

At this year's Music Academy, the Czech Republic is again represented as one of the active partner thanks to the cooperation of the Czech Embassy in Pristina and the Prague HAMU, which allowed the soloist Lukas Moťka to lead specialized lessons in Kosovo in 2015. The participation of the Czech music pedagogue Lukas Moťka in 2017 builds on the tradition of previous years of the Academy and simultaneously contributes to the promotion of the best image of the Czech culture and the Czech music tradition.
