European Summer Music Academy 2018 in Gjakova and Mitrovica has started

On August 22, 2018 the 7th European Summer Music Academy has been launched in Gjakova and will end up with the final student's concert on August 30, 2018. Young students at the age of 17 – 27 will be able to improve their musical skills in many courses led by 14 music pedagogues from Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Luxemburg, Macedonia, Netherlands and Poland during the Academy.
 

In this year's Music Academy, the Czech Republic is also represented as one of the active partners thanks to the cooperation of the Czech Embassy in Pristina and the Prague HAMU. The participation of the first trumpeter of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra Ladislav Kozderka, who lead specialized lessons in 2018, builds on the tradition of previous years of the Academy and contributes to the promotion of the best image of the Czech culture and the Czech music tradition.

The project of summer music academy was founded by the Czech Embassy in Pristina in 2012 and the Czech Embassy organized this event in 2013 again as a common project with the participation of diplomatic missions of the EU countries. The Academy was a great success in Pristina and it continued in 2014 on the initiative of the German Embassy, and the Luxembourg Embassy organized the Academy in 2015. Since 2016 the Academy has been organized by the Gjakova-Basel foundation in the city of Gjakova and some activities (courses and concerts) took place in other cities, this year is it Mitrovica, in the north Kosovo.
