The ESMA in Pristina is a project that intends to exchange the best knowledge and experience among the music professors as well as students and artists from Western and Southwestern Europe during specialized masterclasses. Concerts of students and professors, opera performances, and string orchestra performances are part of the Academy. This year, a record number of 170 students have registered, coming from Kosovo, Albania, Macedonia, Monte Negro, Serbia, Bosna and Herzegovina, Germany and United Kongdom.

The ESMA was founded by the Czech Embassy in Pristina in 2012 and the Czech Embassy organized the event in 2013 again. The Academy enjoyed a great success in Pristina and by the initiative of the German Embassy it continued in 2014, and the Luxembourg Embassy is organizing the Academy in 2015. Thanks to the cooperation with Prague Faculty of Music of the Academy of Performing Arts (HAMU) the Czech Republic is represented this year again. The HAMU entrusted two visiting professors – Kamila Moťková (oboe) and Lukáš Moťka (trombone), to represent the best image of the Czech music tradition together with the Czech pianist and music pedagogue Jaromír Klepáč who was at the origins of the ESMA idea.
