Federica Mogherini in Pristina: Kosovo is energy and future

On March 26th, 2015 High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini visited Pristina, for the first time in her function. Mogherini, during her meetings with the Kosovo top political representatives including opposition leaders, confirmed clear European prospects of Kosovo. On the academic field, she addressed students and emphasized the key role of young generation.
 

Bekim Çollaku, Minister of European Integration commented the visit: “(Mogherini) brought strong messages of clear European prospects for Kosovo reconfirming readiness to sign SAA, her support for the visa liberalization process in the accordance with fulfilled criteria ... as well as continuation of dialog for normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.”

In the debate in the National Library, attended by students (including students from the Northern part of Kosovo), representatives of the diplomatic community, Kosovo academic life and opposition, Mogherini addressed primarily young generation. In her speech, introduced by Madame President Atifete Jahjaga, Mogherini emphasized hope and energy of young generation and its bright prospects for the future accenting the necessity to overcome the counterproductive burdens from the past. Mogherini described Kosovo in two words – energy and future.
