Meeting with members of the Committee for European Integration

On December 13, at the invitation of the chairperson of the Committee for European Integration of the Kosovo Parliament, Rrezarta Krasniqi, the Head of the Czech Embassy in Kosovo, Pavel Bílek, met with the members of this committee.

The meeting took place within the framework of the finishing Presidency of the Czech Republic of the Council of the EU. In his speech, the Head of the Embassy informed the members of the committee about the main results of the Czech Presidency, which focused mainly on mitigating the effects of Russian aggression and supporting Ukraine. Pavel Bílek emphasized the support given by the Czech Presidency to the enlargement process and to the future membership of the countries of the Western Balkans in the EU. During the Czech Presidency, it was possible to find an agreement among the member countries on the issue of visa liberalization for Kosovo. In the coming days, Kosovo will submit its application for membership in the European Union to the Czech Presidency.

Kosovo MPs thanked the Czech Presidency for its support in the issue of visa liberalization and expressed high hopes in connection with applications for membership in the EU and the Council of Europe.
