Passover in Kosovo

On April 4, 2015 the association Bet Israel Kosova held a festive dinner for the first night of Passover, called seder. In the presence of members of the Jewish community in Kosovo, friends of Bet Israel association, representatives of the Diplomatic Corps and others, one of the most important and oldest Jewish feasts commemorating liberation of Jews from the Egyptian slavery and their way to freedom was celebrated. In accordance with tradition, children took active part in the seder ritual with great interest and joy.
 

Association Bet Israel Kosova brings together almost 100 active members. Ruzhdi Shkodra is its President. There live 42 Jews in Kosovo in the present. Bet Israel’s mission is “cultivation of traditionally and historically good relations between Albanian and Jewish people to promote welfare and tolerance not only between these two people, but also between all freedom-loving people”.
