The Head of the Czech Embassy in Pristina visited Prizren

On June 7, 2019 Mr Pavel Bílek, the head of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Prishtina, visited Prizren, the second largest city in Kosovo, where he met with representatives of the Prizren municipality, Deputy Mayor Eshref Memaj, Chairman of the Prizren Representatives Artan Abrashi and Deputy Mayor for Community Issues Mamnuna Ajdini.
 

The head of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Pristina, Pavel Bílek, stressed that the Czech Republic has supported Kosovo since its inception in 2008, adding that his visit to the Prizren region is of a working nature and continues the long-term engagement of the Czech Republic in the Prizren region, especially in developing and transformation projects targeting disadvantaged and minority communities. Mr Pavel Bílek assured the Prizren leaders of the Czech Republic's intention to continue the projects in the future. Czech cultural engagement in the European Summer Music Academy ESMA and the documentary film festival Dokufest were also discussed in the cultural field. Also this year, Czech artists will be represented at these important cultural events.

The head of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Pristina, Pavel Bílek, inaugurated the exhibition on the anniversary of the Czech Republic's accession to NATO and the EU. Pavel Bilek stressed that the Czech Republic's accession to both NATO and the EU was two strategic milestones in modern Czech history that bring stability, peace and prosperity. The opening of the exhibition was followed by a reception accompanied by Czech classical music performed by a guitar trio from a local music school. The ceremonial opening of the exhibition was enriched by an accompanying event - presentation of Škoda cars. The cultural presentation of the Embassy in Priština had a considerable media response. The head of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Priština, Pavel Bílek, provided an interview for the local TV station TV Prizren.

The Czech Embassy in Kosovo has long been profiling human rights projects targeting minorities and other disadvantaged communities. Head of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Pristina Pavel Bílek met with representatives of non-profit organizations, which in the past implemented projects supported by Czech development and transformation cooperation. Pavel Bílek spoke with the representatives of the Down Syndrome Admir Shala, the Association of the Blind People Mexhit Foniqi and the representatives of the Deaf Association Enver Kurtalani, who highly appreciated the importance of Czech projects for Kosovo.
