Kosovo Police 17th anniversary

On September 6, 2016 at the Red Hall in Pristina Kosovo Police officially marked 17th anniversary of its existence. The celebration was attended by Kosovo Prime Minister Mr. Isa Mustafa, Kosovo Minister of Interior Mr. Skënder Hyseni, Kosovo Police Commander Mr. Shpend Maxhuni, representatives of Diplomatic Corps accredited in Kosovo and other Kosovo public personalities.

Kosovo Police was established on September 6, 1999 and build up under OSCE Mission in Kosovo. First generation had 176 members. Until now Kosovo Police got 53 generations of its cadets having more than 8000 officers.

“Kosovo Police showed professionalism and devotion in protecting Kosovo citizens, in protecting territorial integrity and Constitution of the Country,” said Prime Minister Isa Mustafa while addressing to Kosovo Police members and its management.

Kosovo Minister of Interior Skënder Hyseni told Kosovo Police members how they have many reasons to be proud because: “Kosovo have police officers with integrity and devoted to the country having a courage, that from time to time, is facing macabre challenges that one democratic police of a democratic country can face with.”

“We were lucky having international professionals who helped us in the consolidation of Police. Successes of Kosovo Police are comparable with Police from countries in the world that are much more developed than Kosovo is,” Kosovo Police Commander Shpend Maxhuni said.

On this occasion of 17th Police anniversary medals were given to the distinguished police officers.
