Czech Expert Trained the Staff of Kosovo Center for Children with Disabilities

From November 30 to December 4, 2015 a training, organized in the framework of the Czech Development Assistance (financially secured from sources of the Czech Development Agency) and implemented by People in Need Foundation, took place in REA Center – center  for the support of development and social inclusion of children with disabilities and for the help to their families.
 

Training was led by Ms. Terezie Hradilkova, methodologist of the Support Center for Transformation and board member of the Association for Early Intervention in the Czech Republic. The main partner was Ms. Skhurta Berisha, special pedagogue, together with her Kosovo colleagues and volunteers form the People in Need Foundation. Courses were aimed at professional and management skills:

  1. Providing support to families and planning skills to families with disabled children in ambulatory centers.

  2. Differences between stimulation of children with organ and central disabilities.

  3. Tools, methodologies and procedures for support, stimulation and teaching of disabled kids (age 0 - 6 years).

  4. Management, awareness and promotion.

Kosovo partners also discussed with the Czech trainer possibilities of potential cooperation, issues relating to personnel, material and methodological resources, and REA Center development plans of fieldwork for poor Kosovars in non-urban areas.

During the training, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Kosovo Mr. Ivo Šilhavý visited REA Center and praised the work of the Czech expert and efforts of Center employees.
