Small Local Project enabled health examination of 11.000 Kosovo school kids

On March 18, 2015, while monitoring small local projects that have been implemented in Kosovo, Mr. Ivo Šilhavý, Czech Ambassador to Kosovo, visited the primary school of Hasan Prishtina.

During the implementation of the project „Supporting Pristina Municipality health care institutions in detection and early intervention of eye and other problems of children“ school kids of 1st, 5th and 9th grade are being medically examined with a goal to uncover possible health problems and to provide appropriate treatment based on early diagnosis.

As the main implementor of the project Pristina Municipality has established and trained, together with relevant health institutions, eight mobile medical teams that are going to  provide in upcoming weeks medical check-ups of nearly 11.000 school kids and establish their electronic medical records.

During the discussion with Mr. Arben Vitia, Director of the health and social welfare Department at the Municipality of Pristina, epidemiologist Dr. Nexhmedin Hoti from the Family Medical Center, and Dr. Teuta Hoxha from the Ministry of Health Care, and Mr. Safet Zogiani, Deputy Director of Hasan Prishtina School, Czech Embassy representatives shared with Kosovo partners their experience in the area of health care problems.
