The project is focused on the wastewater treatment from the village Mramor and other adjacent settlements, the wastewater of which has been discharged into a tributary of the lake so far. The Wastewater treatment will greatly improve the water quality in Lake Badovac, which serves as the source of drinking water for Pristina and the nearby town Gračanica. The project builds on the ongoing construction of the sewerage network financed by Kosovo. A part of the project will also be a  training of local operators, a supply of laboratory equipment and an extensive awareness and education campaign in the adjacent municipalities and schools.

The Ceremonial laying of the foundation stone at the tributary to Lake Badovac was opened by the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Pristina Mr. Ivo Šilhavý. The ceremony was also attended by Kosovo's Minister of Environment and Territorial Development Mr. Ferid Agani, the mayor of Pristina Mr. Shpend Ahmeti, the Mayor of Gračanica Mr. Vladeta Kostic and the director of the Pristina Water Company Mr. Gjelosh Vataj.

The Manager of the Ircon Company Mr. Jan Pavelka informed about the technical parameters of the project and its benefits. After that other guests praised the bilateral cooperation between the Czech Republic and Kosovo in their speeches; especially the cooperation in the area of environmental protection. At the same time they stressed the importance of the project for the future water quality in Lake Badovac, from which especially the general public would benefit and they also mentioned that the project would improve the potential for the development of the trade relations between the Czech Republic and Kosovo.

The project follows the construction of two wastewater treatment plants implemented by the Czech companies -Ircon and TopolWater.
