A celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Czechoslovak Republic

On the occasion of the upcoming anniversary of the foundation of Czechoslovakia, the representative Office of the Czech Republic, in cooperation with the Representative Office of Slovakia, organised a gala reception in Ramallah.

At the beginning of the reception, the introductory speeches were given by the Head of the Czech Mission, Mr. Petr Starý, the representative of the Slovak Representative Office, Sami Pegy, and the by advisor of President Abbas, Dr. Majdid al-Chalidi.

A musical performance was also part of the reception. The national anthems and other compositions were performed by the young Czech musician, Jakub W. Graf, the winner of many international violoncello competitions.

Among the distinguished guests there were representatives of the Palestinian government present at the reception including the Minister of Energy,  Záfer Milhelm. Other participants included members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the local administration, including several mayors, and members of the Czech-Palestinian Forum, the association of Palestinian graduates of Czech universities and also Czech citizens living in Palestine. The celebration  was also an opportunity for meetings with other business partners, especially with organisations with which the Czech Republic implements development activities or projects in support of the economic diplomacy agenda.
