Czechs were prominent again at the traditional charity Christmas market in Bethlehem

The Representative Office of the Czech Republic in Ramallah participated again at the Christmas market in Bethlehem which took place on 2nd December 2018, the first Sunday in Advent. The diplomats and staff of the Representative Office continued with the established tradition of donating the proceeds of the sale of Czech beer, Christmas cookies, mulled wine and Christmas decorations from the Czech Republic to local charitable causes.

The very pleasant weather attracted thousands of local visitors as well as foreign tourists to the Manger Square, located in the historic center of Bethlehem, in front of the Church of the Nativity. They had the opportunity to taste not only traditional specialties offered mainly by European diplomatic missions in Palestine, but also to buy Christmas decorations and small gifts, and especially to enjoy the pre-Christmas atmosphere and spend a nice day with their families and friends under the newly decorated Christmas tree.

The Czech stand was in siege, not only thanks to the Pilsner Urquell beer, which was a significant attraction but also because of the mouthwatering Christmas cookies made by the wifes and children of the diplomat’s families. For all the visitors to the Bethlehem market, our quality beer remains an unforgettable symbol of Czech taste.
